Berry Picking at Lou's

My Step father has blueberry bushes and his family was unable to pick them this year. Well they did some but the bushes were very full, so he invited me to pick them too.

The bushes were loaded!
However having Matt is is very hard for me to do anything that requires my full attention and take care of Matt as well, so I invited My in laws to help pick and I said I would share with them, that way I can get some berries they can get some berries and Matt gets a great visit in!

My Mother in law Mary
This is my "Mom" Mary, She's done some picking for Profit in her day, so I knew that this would be a not so daunting task for her.  "Dad"  did some picking,  but mostly he played with Matt, as did Steve.

Nobody is lookin'...
The berry patch is surrounded by a fence and a "berry net" so at one point Matt got tired of his Daddy and crawled over to the patch and came in and sat down... when he discovered what we were doing however....

OH you caught me!
He was quite tickled to be inside though! he saw that unlike us "Big people" he could crawl around under the bushes, and soon found his way to the edge of the fence where Mary had crawled to get to the berries that we couldn't reach.

Matt Wanted Grandma to hold him
How she picked berries one handed is beyond me! But if her Matty wants picked up she does it so willingly! He also helped her pick some. But Matt would pick a green one and Mom would say "Not the green ones Pick the BLUE ones" I think she may have said that several times prior to putting him down.
I think those are Moms Sneakers!
The the little guy spotted a pair of shoes... and he made his way around to me.  I am not so willing to pick him up and continue to work, I instead helped him out and around from under the bushed and gave him a drink then went back at it.
If i open this bucket....
After the rascals drink, he found the tote Mary was putting her berries in, and  while he was trying to eat as many as he could he kept saying BLUE BLUE BLUE. So needless to say we think that Mary taught Matt to say BLUE.
10 Quarts of wonderful Blueberries!
We each have 5 quarts of blueberries we haven't had this many blueberries since I was sick here is the post about that... Blueberries we had 10 quarts then too and those berries lasted us all winter!

Sounds like a wonderful experince for Matt and he learned a color too!
Someone brought several acres of land down the road from us and it will be nothing but blueberries ,
But I doubt we will be able to pick any I think it may be for wholesalers .
