I have been getting questions... I thought some answers would be a neat post.
This is my nail box. This is what I keep in my nail box.
- Polish (duh)
- acetone remover (yes i use the cheapest i can get my hands on)
- an orange stick although i dont know why
- an old toothbrush to scrub under my nails
- a cuticle trimmer (i get hang nails and this helps ALOT)
- and rolled cotton balls (I like it when they look like snowman tummies)
- toothpicks.. they arn't in the pic... i didnt put them away yet! they work good for designs and essential in water marbling
- oh and i have one of those "toe spacers" but I never use it... I don't paint my toes
These are Bon Bons... 1/8 fl ounces tiny little bottle, but just the right price if you are setting up a "Nail Box" at $.99 a bottle you can pick this up at Wal-mart instead of a high calorie soft drink and have a new bottle of polish and watch your diet at the same time. Something everyone is thinking after Christmas!
Bon Bons come in all colors usually in a "fishbowl" instead of on a rack as you can see I have a bunch and I just ditched some. You don't feel bad throwing these out either cuz its such a tiny amount. They wear nearly good enough I don't expect my polish to last more than a week. But I do like it to last three days. bon bons tend to do that. The silver on my holly nails was a bon bon base it held up almost TOO well I had to really work to get the silver off! I like that.
This is what I have in Walmarts brand of "Pure Ice" I love the coverage... sometimes the white flakes off. But I havent had any trouble with the orange flaking. I have yet to try "calypso". The silver I bought to do my base for my holly, but sadly its not glittery enough for that, I will probably use this as a top coat over a solid to add some "glitz" I have also seen the "pure ice" line have hearts and stuff floating in the polish... I dont trust it... if this silver I just bought covers as a clear with silver glitter... large flakes are probably gonna just be clear and not give the desired result of "hearts" on your nails... These run $2.50 a bottle cheap enough for me to keep buying it, but to high to try the stuff I don't think will deliver what you think it will.
These are the "wet and wild" stuff I have I LOVE the black! as a matter of fact I need more... I have bought two bottles of black now I need to get my third... now that I think of it I have never been disappointed by wet and wild products... polish or makeup. The prices arnt bad and the stuff holds up well enough.
These are my "chromes" the shine is ultra high they dry super fast and if you forgot to do your nails and you have to rush out the door? a quickie coat of these will cover up the bad stuff and dry so fast you wont be behind. one coat covers like three so it makes a good base for decorating the one drawback? it wears off.. not chips just doesn't hold to your nails but I have noticed you can get a week of wear with a good top coat. oh watch the colors.... the bottles are not the polish the purple looks almost blue. I think I need more of these...
I have an assortment still of single bottles some novelty so just a brand here or there. but these are my go-to's right now.
I hope this helps you get your boxes set up!
